Alison is Head of Research Development at Northumbria University. She leads a team of specialists, working with funders, academics, partners, from initial concept to funded project. Her speciality is strategically catalysing and developing challenge-led multidisciplinary research. Areas of focus are global challenges research, industrial strategy and innovation. Alison works with senior executives and academics in the development and implementation of Northumbria's research strategy. Alison brings experience from roles outside academia, in policy, business and civil society. She is passionate about the climate emergency, sustainability, and ethical finance.
