Ben Sumner

Director of Engagement and Partnerships, Research and Innovation, Financial and Business Services,

Ben is responsible for developing and managing the University’s links with its key industry partners. His team coordinates both corporate and local partnerships to maximise the impact and benefit derived from University research. Working across the University and its international campuses, Ben focuses on key sectors including aerospace, energy, health, pharmaceuticals, agrifood and transport. Before joining the University, Ben spent a number of years working in foreign direct investment for local and regional agencies. At East Midlands Development Agency he was responsible for activity in both the transport technology sector and the Asia Pacific market, managing operations in India, Japan and Australia. Ben holds an MA in International Relations from the University of Nottingham.
