Dr Maggie McGowan

Maggie is Director of Research and Innovation at the University of Hull. Her career spans the private and HE sectors. Before joining Hull, Maggie was employed at the University of York, holding roles covering research and business development. She worked in the brewing industry for a number of years, holding senior roles covering environmental and quality management and process development. She has a BSc and PhD in chemistry and MBA from Manchester Business School, where her research focussed on the barriers to collaboration between industry and academia. Maggie has a keen interest in place-based research and innovation and low-carbon technologies.
